PORTWASTE focuses on providing a blockchain-based waste management solution to make ports greener and more efficient. This initiative seeks to promote circularity and develop Green Ports through the use of blockchain technology. Once the results of Phase I have been analyzed, Phase II of the project focuses on expanding the functionalities to improve waste management and the monitoring of circularity in manufacturing companies outside the port area.
A scheme of sovereign identities and verifiable credentials is implemented, allowing users to manage personal data and create digital "identity cards". The impact on the carbon footprint is also being investigated and work is being done on the tokenization of products. The scrap purchase process is digitized to feed the decentralized market test bank that is expected to be created at the end of phase III, which will focus on consolidating and improving the results of the previous phases, correcting errors, improving the user experience and creating a Dashboard for data processing. In addition, validation pilots will be conducted in representative environments to test port waste management and traceability in real time.
Clúster Digital leads the management and coordination of the project.
